Sonny&#8217;s insight into show business \u00a0(as well as the game of chess) has continued to be an enduring influence on Robert.<\/p>\n<p>Robert next toured with the \u00a0Motown \u00a0gospel\/funk group Sisters Love, opening for \u00a0Michael Jackson and The \u00a0Jackson 5.<\/p>\n<p>Robert has been keyboardist for The Spencer Davis Group, the Simon Stokes Band, Yvonne Elliman, country singer Deborah Allen, Barbi Benton, Jay Ferguson (formerly of the band Spirit) and Dick Clark&#8217;s 50&#8217;s Touring Band (backing such legendary acts as  Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Freddy Cannon, The Platters and The Drifters).<\/p>\n<p>Since 1978, he has been a member of  Al Stewart&#8217;s band and is the featured soloist on the mega-live hit version of  YEAR OF THE CAT. The summer  of 1999 marked their 21st anniversary tour together. For  6 years, Robert was the keyboardist for top selling Smooth Jazz artist Peter White.<\/p>\n<p>He has recorded  on and\/or produced over a dozen albums which include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>performed on several live albums with legendary  Al Stewart<\/li>\n<li>the dvd THE BEST OF MUSIKLADEN (1999 )with Al Stewart and Peter White<\/li>\n<li>produced , performed and wrote on Warner Bros. Records release- Ian Messenger HANDS ACROSS THE NIGHT<\/li>\n<li>performed on the cd  &#8220;NEW WAVE&#8221; with 50&#8217;s retro surf band The Challengers<\/li>\n<li>performed on LP  &#8220;ROADIE&#8221;  (Original Motion Picture Sound Track) with Jay Ferguson<\/li>\n<li>produced , performed, and wrote the LP  &#8221; BEN STEELE AND HIS BARE  HANDS&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>performed on  LP &#8220;HEART TO HEART&#8221; with Chris Pinnick and Chet Mc Cracken<\/li>\n<li>performed on LP &#8220;PROMENADE&#8221; with Peter White<\/li>\n<li>performed in the film &#8220;ON THE AIR WITH CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT&#8221;  Sebastian International<\/li>\n<li>performed \u00a0with the band Scream on the original soundtrack of  &#8220;ON THE AIR WITH CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>performed on the cd  &#8220;THE RADICAL&#8221; with Russell Means<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Robert majored in Music at Cal State Northridge and Pacific University in Forest Grove,Oregon. He continued his private studies with Charlie Shoemake, a vibist for jazz great George Shearing, classical piano with Esther Lee Kaplan and Dr. Jacqueline Salas and composition with George Heussenstamm.<\/p>\n<p>Robert studied Hapkido and received his black belt  from nineth degree black belt Hapkido Grand Master  Ho Jin Song.
